Monday Monday Monday

Days of the week mean nothing to me these days. Just thought I would emphasize that today is Monday in my title.

Last Friday night, Blake & I had a 'date' night! Shari kept Addison while we went to dinner & she drank 3oz of EBM (expressed breastmilk) from a bottle! Of course, that must have been a fluke, because she refused the bottle from everyone at the lake over the weekend! Shari said she would be more than happy to stop by this week & try to give her more. Throughout the day today I have randomly offered the bottle & even tried last night during bathtime. She was so-so about it, but at least she didn't have a meltdown!

Daycare - Addison is signed up with Kid Tech (right by our house) & Bundles of Joy (brand new & about 8 minutes from our house). Just recently Blake & I found out about a lady that keeps infants in her home & she lives very close to my office. She interviews potential clients to see if she would like to keep the baby. Saturday morning before we went to the lake, we were interviewed by Ms Ginger to see if she would keep Addison when I go back to work. I really like her setup & she comes highly recommended. Luckily, she liked us enough to agree to keep Addison! She is more expensive, but I believe that the peace of mind it will give me is priceless. Since she lives right by the office, I will be able to stop by during the day for short visits :) I go back to work July 17! It will be here before I know it!

2 month shots

Addison did great with the shots yesterday. Blake held her in his lap while she got poked 3 times. I sat across the room looking the other direction! She screamed like I've never heard her scream, but as soon as it was over she was fine. I thought she would get 5 shots, but the nurse said now they combine a couple. Ahhh genius!!!

Happy 2 Month Birthday (yesterday) Addison

Time is flying by so fast! Addison's 2 month check-up went well. Dr. Khanfar gave her a full inspection & said everything looks great. Here are her 2 month statistics: weight = 11.7lbs; height = 22 inches; head = 15 inches. *Casey - I told Dr. Khanfar that you need to send Avery to our house for weight gain!*

Addison got a playmat for her birthday and seems to like it okay. She will lay longer on her back than on her tummy though. Tummy time just isn't her thing!

This evening Addison will be getting poked 5 times :( That's right... time for the 2month shots - UGH. I don't know if I will be able to go in with her or not. Blake may have to go by himself. I have trouble being in the same room when Buddy gets shots!! We will see....

I am about to add pics to photobucket... enjoy :)

BTW - still sick ::cough::cough::

Birth Certificate

Well, we got Addison's birth certificate today. I guess that makes her officially ours :) Her social security card came 2 weeks ago, so she is all legal now.

Here are some pics from our backyard photo shoot today!

Uh Oh

Wednesday night we found out the hard way that Miss Addison refuses to take a bottle. I went to the grocery store & while I was away Addison woke up from her nap *hungry*. So, Blake warmed her bottle and tried to feed her. She wouldn't take it! Instead she cried for 30 minutes until I got home & nursed her. Now comes the fun part of trying to re-introduce the bottle to her. I have gotten some great tips on how to achieve this task.
*Nurse her for a while then offer the bottle
*Leave the house (not just the room) so she won't smell me & have Blake offer the bottle
*Make sure the bottle is warmer than room temperature
*Offer the bottle when she is still half asleep.

Addison isn't a stranger to the bottle, so I think it's just a matter of breaking comfort for her to always be nursed. Wish us luck. If you have any suggestions, feel free to share.

I am still sick ::cough::cough::

This is how I get things done around the house now that Addy is big enough for me to wear her!

Sick ::cough::cough::

Today I had to visit the doctor :( I am in the midst of my summer chest cold! Hopefully, the antibiotics I was given (shot & pills) will clear it up. Last July I was sick the entire month - first with a sinus infection (got shot & pills) then 2 weeks later had with a respiratory infection (more shots & pills) then on Aimee's wedding day a week later I ended up in the emergency room with 102 fever & full blown bronchitis! Of course, now since I am breastfeeding the medications I can take are limited. Please keep your fingers crossed that the antibiotics I got today will work!

Our little Addison is doing great. She takes her reflux medicine twice a day & it seems to be helping. Fortunately, this is something she can grow out of & not be on the medicine forever!

Eczema, Reflux and Gas - OH MY!

Addison had a trip to the dr yesterday. Poor little girl is having several issues. The eczema/baby acne will go away on its own, but we did get medicine for the reflux & gas. Hopefully, she will get some relief soon. I can't stand when she cries out in discomfort - believe me... it's a very distinct cry! I can handle the 'I'm hungry', 'change my diaper', 'entertain me' cries with no problem. She is still gaining weight which means the reflux isn't severe. Piglet weighs 10lbs now!
