33ish weeks (added picture)

My check-up went great & Addison was a doll the whole time.  Of course, when the dr came in I gave Addy my 'secret weapons' - chapstick & a sucker :)

I asked for a happy face & this is what I got!

I'm scheduled for a NST (nonstress test) & ultrasound at the hospital in 2 weeks.  The NST will monitor the baby's heartbeat, first while the baby is resting & then while she's moving.  Just as your heart beats faster when you're active, your baby's heart rate should go up while she's moving or kicking.  There aren't any signs something is wrong with baby, just due to my age & blood pressure issues last pregnancy the dr wants to make sure all is well.  I'm thrilled that I get to listen to ALYSSA's little heartbeat & see her again!

My niece is pregnant & due in October.  They just found out that Logan will be getting a little SISTER!  Yay!  Congrats Aimee & DK!

One ear infection away from....

buying Addison a new pair of ears!  The last 2 nights have been H-E-L-L!  Last night Addy & I slept most of the night in the recliner!  Yeah, easier said than done being pregnant!  Whew!  So, this morning I called the pedi for an appointment.  Another ear infection :(  Another round of antibiotics :(  I got a full course on the toddler ear anatomy this morning for a better understanding of why this keeps happening lately.  The good news is that there hasn't been any impact on her speech development & as she grows the ear tube angles more & drains fluid more efficiently.  YAY!  On average a toddler gets 8-10 respiratory infections per year.  More times than not it results in an ear infection.  Addison doesn't display symptoms every time she's sick.  Like now, no fever, runny nose, cough, etc.  Just very irritable during the night when she's laying down.  I'm really praying that since Addy won't be in MDO this summer that this will be our last ear infection for a long time.

Busy weekend

Friday was spent traveling home for maternity pictures & a birthday party!  We did our pictures with TwoSuez again!  Katie May is awesome & I wanted the same style that we had done last pregnancy.  We had a great time as always.  Addison was so happy to be out of the vehicle that she was all about taking pictures!  I can't WAIT to see the proofs!  Here's one that Katie posted for me as a teaser :)  She's now at the beach, so it'll probably be a couple of weeks before we see any more :(
Saturday was a fun-filled day with balloons & a cookie cake!  We celebrated Addison's birthday (a month late) & Blake's birthday.  It was a wonderful day with our friends & family.  I should've taken a picture of the cookie cake, but forgot!  When I called last week to order the cake, I had a feeling it wouldn't be the right thing.  The lady on the phone wasn't very customer service oriented!  I told her that I wanted red & yellow icing with 'Happy Birthday Addy & Daddy' on the cake.  I spelled everything out for her.  So, on our way into town Friday we stopped by the mall & Blake ran in to get the cake.  Well, he was supposed to go in & get the cake.  Somehow he found his way to Lids & texted me saying that they had a hat he's been looking for & there was only ONE left.  Suuurreee, there was only ONE left.  Anyway, it was his birthday, so he got the hat.  When he got back out to the car he opened the cake to show me.  LOW & BEHOLD it said 'Happy Birthday ABBY & Daddy'!  Who the hell is Abby??  Blake said he looked at the cake in the store, but didn't notice the error.  The order form had the correct spelling...  I'm sure he had a hat on his mind & wasn't focused on the task at hand :)  I didn't want to take the time to have them correct it, so we had a party for Abby & Daddy!  LOL  Oh & don't let me forget to add that he came out with not ONE, but TWO hats because 'you know it's always buy 1 get 1 half off'!

Here's one of the hats

Now for some party pictures!

Last Day of MDO

Today was the last day of MDO until September.  I'm so happy that we decided to send Addison to MDO this past school year.  It has really been a great experience for her (and me)!  Now this summer will be filled with weekly play dates & adjusting to life with baby sister (she still doesn't have a name)!  Hopefully, I can keep up the play dates until baby arrives.  I know Addison enjoys seeing her friends & playing with someone other than mommy.

Chuck E Cheese & Baby Sister Names

Today was our first visit to Chuck E Cheese!  Addison enjoyed the pizza & ski ball, but there wasn't much more for her to do there.  Blake remembers CEC to be much different, bigger & better!  Then again, when you are little I guess everything seems bigger & better :)

Dancing around & being silly!

Addison has watched me clean the slide so many times that now she knows it has to be done before we play!

We are still trying to decide on a name for baby sister & have until next Friday to decide!  There is a certain picture that I want to take during our maternity session like I had with Addison & it requires a NAME!
Possible names:
Alyssa
Ashlynn
Taylor
'Catherine' will be part of the name (either first or middle)

When you ask Addison what baby sister's heartbeat sounds like she says 'boom, boom'.

It's Done!

I cried, she cried.  We went to the lab this morning for blood work.  The tech tried the right arm first & kept fumbling trying to find a vein.  She had the needle in Addy's arm digging around!  UGH!  I made her stop to give Addy & myself a break (it was only about 30 seconds, but felt like 30 minutes).  The left arm cooperated much better!  First stick was a success & Addy stopped crying as soon as she saw the blood going through the tube into the vial.  WHEW!  I'm so happy it's over with!

Addy's 2 Year Well-Visit

FINALLY...this morning we were able to do Addy's well-visit!  We've had to put it off the last couple of weeks since she's been sick.  Shame on me for not getting exact numbers, but I think she weighs 28lbs & is 33 inches tall!  That puts her in the 35th percentile for height & 70th percentile for weight.  She got her last Hep A vaccine & won't have anymore (other than flu vaccine) until she's 4!  That doesn't help me any since I'm about to start ALL OVER with vaccines again once Baby Sister arrives :(  Sometime this week Addy has to go have blood work done.  It just checks all of the levels to make sure her numbers are in the normal range.  I dread it because they are going to take her blood like an adult (from the arm) not just a finger prick :(  Of course, it's an optional test, but peace of mind is worth a few minutes of screaming.
She loves to twirl when wearing a dress or skirt!

Personalized Books

Pappy & Grams got Addison some personalized books for her birthday.  There are 4 books & each one includes her friends (Avery, Logan, Maggie & Parker).  She loves it when we read the books to her & she hears familiar names.  I need to get it on video along with a hundred other adorable little things she's doing now.

30 Weeks

My check-up was this morning, so I dropped Addy off at the back-up MDO while I went to my appointment.  Unfortunately, while in the room waiting for the dr the nurse came in to say he had an emergency, so I had to reschedule.  I rescheduled for this afternoon & decided to just take Addy with me.  I explained to her that we were going to the dr to check on baby sister & listen to her heartbeat.  She seemed pretty interested.  She was a doll the whole 20 minutes we were there!  I may just start taking her with me from now until the end!

YAY!  I've only gained 3lbs since my last appointment a month ago!  I guess that makes up for the EIGHT pounds I gained the previous month!  Blood pressure is great & baby's heartbeat is perfect.  I go back in 3 weeks, then we'll start every week.

Back to MDO

Addy went back to MDO today!  She was SO excited to go see all of her friends.  All morning she kept telling me everyone in her class that she was going to see.

Spray Park

Last night Blake wasn't feeling very well, so he went to the doctor this morning.  We saw this coming a few days ago, but was just hoping it was a little cold & would pass us by.  Turns out it's a nasty sinus infection & bronchitis.  BOOOO!  I think I need to hire someone to come in & disinfect our house!  Luckily, Addy is doing just fine & has made a full recovery.  Well, I think so anyway.  Her check-up is next Monday.

This morning we went to the spray park & had the whole place to ourselves.  It's always nice to go during the week when everyone is in school.

A friend of mine just got back from a family vacation to Beaches Resort in Turks & Caicos.  Her little girl is 4 months older than Addison.  They all had a wonderful time & it looks like a place that will be on my radar in the future when planning a vacation!

Festival & Maggie

We finally ventured out of the house today to go see what a local festival had to offer.  Most of them are about the same & this one was nothing different.  Well, except for the boat races on the river.  We got there just in time to watch the race.  I was a little scared being that close to the river & the boats going so fast!  I've seen those shows about how the boats lose control & fly into the crowd, etc!!  Yikes!
The skies were dark & gray, but fortunately no rain came while we were there.  It was actually a good time to go with the breeze & clouds!

Since Addison has been sick she has only seen her BFF Maggie from a distance through the kitchen window.  Well, today when we got home, Maggie & her family were just getting home too.  It was one of the sweetest sights I've ever seen!  I pointed out to Addison that Maggie was outside & Maggie's dad pointed out to Maggie that Addison was outside.  When they saw each other it was like a scene from a movie.  They started running towards one another & finally met up in the middle of our neighbors yard.  Addison patted Maggie on the back as if to say 'nice to see you old friend' & Maggie was telling Addison all about MDO (since Addy hasn't been in forever).  HILARIOUS!!!  I love it!  I'm so happy Addy is doing better & can now play with her friends again.  Maggie also gave Addy a birthday present.  She got some jammies & a Wonder Pets sticker/coloring book!  Thanks Maggie & family :)  We are so lucky to have you in our life!
