Another Tooth

Alyssa hasn't been sleeping well the past few nights & I found out why this morning!  Her top two central incisors are coming through.  One has completely broken the gum & the other will probably come through by tonight.

There are a lot of things happening lately.  I walked out of the room this morning & returned to find this:
It won't be long until she can figure out how to get back to a sitting position without falling.  For now, she gets stuck standing!  She isn't crawling yet, but scoots very well on her bum & gets what she wants.

American Idol is a great babysitter!
She was mesmerized!

We found these cute little chairs on sale, so picked up a few.  One for the lake (Addy already has one there) & 2 for our house.
Alyssa loves her new chair!

Video Monitor Fun

Addison was supposed to be napping the other day.  I heard suspicious activity over the monitor, so I looked at it & saw these BIG brown eyes looking back at me!  UGH!  We just converted her crib to a toddler bed, but she isn't doing well with the new freedom!  The video monitor camera has been moved to a more secure location out of the reach of a 3 year old.

Bubble Gun Fun

While at the fair last weekend I saw some kids with these cool little bubble blower guns.  I made a mental note that Addy HAD to have one.  It's hard work blowing bubbles for a toddler that never ever gets tired of trying to catch bubbles.  Blake & Addy go to the store every weekend for groceries & look what they found!  It doesn't just blow bubbles!  It also lights up & makes noises, because a simple bubble blower gun wouldn't have been good enough for Addy!  LOL!

Finally...Airbushed License Plate

Shortly after we got our minivan my mother-in-law bought me a wine glass that says 'Living the Minivan Dream'.  So far, the van has gotten more use than the glass!

I decided I wanted a license plate for the front of the van with the same saying.  Well, I guess since in the state of Texas you have front & back plates we could never find any airbrushed plates at any of the fairs or festivals.  UNTIL NOW!

It isn't exactly how I wanted & isn't the greatest work, but will serve the purpose.
I think the airbrush guy inhaled a few too many paint fumes the day we got our plate.
**Since we are temporary residents of Texas & our vehicles are still registered in Louisiana, we don't need front plates**

Crib to Toddler Bed

Today is the day!  Addison would probably stay in her crib until she turned 18 or even longer.  She loves her crib.  Well, it's time to start moving her to the big bed.  After several failed attempts to try & get her to nap/sleep in the big bed, we realized something else had to be done.  Today, we took the front off of her crib.  We may have to take the whole thing apart before it's over with, but this is a start.  She will be 3 in a couple of weeks & it's time for her to transition.  I may be kicking myself for this decision later.  Why mess up a good thing, right?  She never tries to climb out of the crib & like I said, she loves it!  But, Alyssa needs to be moved out of our bed into a crib now.  She's all over the place in the bed & wakes me up all.the.time!

WISH US LUCK!

State Fair Time

We love visiting all of the fairs & festivals in our area.  Today we went to a BIG fair & had a great time.  Thank goodness we went early in the morning, because by 1:00 when we were about to leave the sun came out & the temperature rose fast!  I see many trips to the spray park in our future this summer!  Addison rode a couple of rides & went to the petting zoo.  In just a few months, she went from not riding anything to wanting to ride everything - even rides that she's too little for!

Alyssa took a little nap, but Addison was
just laying down resting.
It's hard work being a kid at a fair!

 Up, up, up & away!

This is the same picture as above.
I zoomed in to see the faces better!
Priceless!

Waiting patiently to get on a ride.

We enjoyed some yummy fair food!  Fried catfish, crawfish sausage, alligator on a stick, fresh lemonade & a $3 bottle of water!  There's always so much to choose from & our bellies can only hold so much!

When we got home today, I was sitting on the couch & Alyssa was on the floor playing.  Well, she grabbed a hold of the couch & pulled herself up to a standing position!  Why am I feeling like I've never been through this before.  Seriously, just 2 short years ago Addison was doing the same thing!  When Alyssa does something I feel like it's the first time (I know it is for her), but you would think by my reactions that she was walking on water or something.  I'm nervous & excited at the same time for her to learn new things.
