A look back at 2008

This has certainly been a busy year for our family. It started with me being 22 weeks pregnant. Did I ever mention how much I LOVED being pregnant? I really never felt better!

Then in April, along came our little angel Addison Claire. She spent the first few days fighting for her life in the NICU, but came out 100% healthy. Thank you Lord!

Here's a look at Addison growing!

In August, Blake was offered a wonderful job opportunity in Texas that he couldn't turn down. This meant me leaving my family, friends & incredible job at Chase to be a stay-at-home mom to Addison. How could I refuse? We loaded up the family & moved in September right after Addy turned 5 months old.

Texas isn't so bad. We've learned the area & made a few friends. This isn't my ideal place to raise a family, so thank goodness it's only temporary. Our house in Louisiana is still on the market. Each time we go home we stop by to check on things. I know the housing market is crappy right now, but I can't imagine why nobody has bought our house yet :) I love that house. Maybe because we lived there for almost 5 years & have memories there. Blake proposed on the back patio, we made upgrades to the house & brought our baby home while living there too. Hopefully, it will sell by Spring.

We end 2008 thankful for all that we have & excited about 2009.

Happy New Year all!

Addy & Parker Video

I have been meaning to post this video for a month now! It's from our visit to see Erin & Parker. Everytime Parker would cry, Addy would too. Check it out.

It's Christmas!

Addy had a great time today. The morning started out with us getting up & checking out a couple of the cool toys Santa brought last night. After that it was time for breakfast & then more presents. She loves all of her new toys! Today was SO much fun! Watching her see the all the new stuff & experiment with it was priceless!

I don't have the energy right now to post pics in this blog, but some have been added to Curran Pics. Just click on the link to the right.

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!

Uh oh

I leave the room for 2 seconds & this is what I come back to:

My monkey has learned to pull up on her knees! She has been trying to climb on everything for the past 2 weeks, but this is the first time on her own! Now it's time to lower the crib mattress!

Merry Christmas

I LOVE

I love getting Christmas cards! Every year I look forward to the new pictures & updates from our friends & extended family. Some just send Christmas cards as a yearly 'routine', but it is SO much more than that. It's a chance to say hello & let loved ones know that they are thought of throughout the year. A couple of years ago we didn't know what to do with all of the cards we had received, so now all of the cards go on the Christmas tree. It's a wonderful way to display the cards & see them each time we pass the tree! (I promise to post pics soon)

Addison is doing great! I need to get busy & post more pictures & videos. She is moving all over the place now. It is amazing (I know I say that all the time)!

Gotta run.... Someone is yelling out for me!!!

My Favorite Things

While everyone else is sharing their 'Favorite Things' lists, I thought "why not share mine too".

So, here are a few things that are at the very very top. (Of course, friends & family all fall into the #1 spot)
Kendall Jackson Riesling - delicious wine

Dark Chocolate

The Mesh Feeder (This little jewel keeps Addy interested for a few minutes. You can put pretty much any food in it & she won't choke on it! Like apple slices, banana slices, green beans, etc)

New tricks

Addison & I finally kicked the colds we've had the past week. Now Blake is sick! This all started with my dad when we were there for our visit a couple of weeks ago. He got sick midway through our visit & it followed us back to Texas. Oh well, we survived.

Addison is doing so many new things lately. Right before my eyes she is learning to go from sitting to the crawling position. She can't quite figure out how to go forward, but has no problem going backwards! Diaper changes are becoming very challenging too, since all she wants to do is try to crawl. I wake up every morning anticipating what she will do to amaze me that day. Words can't express the pure joy of watching a baby grow. Don't get me wrong - there are times when I feel like banging my head against the wall, but I know that would just give me a headache.

In the past couple of weeks we've retired a couple of baby items. She has outgrown the swing & bouncer. The bumbo is pretty useless now since she sits unassisted & she is getting too heavy for me to carry in the Baby Bjorn. The playmat was put away a couple of months ago because she learned how to scoot off of it. Now we just use a blanket on the floor. Oh, and the infant carseat is finished too. We are still using the jumperoo, infant bathtub & boppy. I can't think of a single item that I regret getting.

Here is a video of Addison showing off her new skills.

More Snow Pictures

Snow Day

Addy & I both have colds right now :( She isn't running a fever, so we are delaying the doctor visit for now. This morning when Blake got up for work he came around to my side of the bed to tell me good morning. He saw all of the snotty tissue on the floor & jokingly said "Oh wow, it snowed". For some reason he went & looked out the window & was very shocked to see that IT REALLY DID SNOW!!!!
