Addison meets Santa

Addison met Santa today! I wish we could have gotten more than one pose. There was a great shot of her looking up at him :) The one and only pose that we did get turned out cute.

Happy Thanksgiving

We have so much to be thankful for this year. The Lord blessed us with our precious Addison. She is happy, healthy & growing into a big girl. We are also thankful that Blake was presented with this wonderful job opportunity that allows me to stay home with Addison. It's the greatest 'job' ever! Our friends & families are all doing well & we cherish them more than they will ever know. It's been a great year!

Yesterday, me & Addy went to Beaumont shopping with Karen, Billy & Aunt Katie! Addison did fantastic & never fussed! She loves watching people (like her momma)!

Today, we had Thanksgiving dinner at our house. Karen brought over some food & I made a couple of things (deviled eggs & spinach dip).

Of course, we ended up with enough food to feed all of Texas! I can't wait to go home Sunday & eat some of my mom's Thanksgiving food! I wish that we could have went home for Thanksgiving, but everyone understands that we may not make it for every holiday. After dinner we went for a walk to a little park that isn't too far from our house. It doesn't have climbing toys like a kid park. It's more like a 'let's sit here & enjoy the day' park with benches & flower beds & a gazebo. It's already decorated for Christmas with lights, etc, so we will have to go by there one night while it's dark to see it lit up all pretty.

When we got back home it was time to put up the Christmas tree. Blake did most of it & did a GREAT job! Tomorrow we will put up a few lights outside & maybe go do a little shopping.

7 Months Old

I say this every month, but Addison is growing too fast! She is an amazing little girl & I've learned so much in the past 7 months. Addison has certainly made me a better person.

There aren't enough pictures of me & Addy together, so I am going to try harder to take them regularly.

My chunky monkey (17lbs 4oz)

This was one of Blake's stuffed animals when he was 4 or 5 years old. He gave it to Addison last night :)

We go in the morning for her flu shot booster. This will be the last shot until 12 months. She is eating solids regularly now. We usually have oatmeal & a fruit for breakfast then fruit & veggie for lunch & dinner. So far she does really well & hasn't rejected any food.

**Now it's Tuesday morning & this is a continuation of my blogging from last night!
We just got the call from Danny! Parker Blaze was born this morning weighing in at 6lbs 14oz & 20 inches long. He's not very big after all! Erin & Parker are both doing great. I wanted to be there so badly, but it just wasn't possible. However, me & Addy will be going to Bastrop on Sunday for a week, so we will get to visit then :)

Now it's time to go get that mean shot!
BTW - Katie will be here today! Addy can't wait to see Aunt Katie :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are back from getting the mean shot! Addy did great! Just a little cry & that was it. We even went shopping at Big Lots afterwards. This morning there were 3 newborns (2 weeks old) in the waiting room when I got there. I could feel the 'baby fever' as soon as I walked in & saw them! Yes, I am crazy for already thinking about having another one!
::cough::cough::
I went back to the dr today. The medicine I got 2 weeks ago didn't seem to help much. He prescribed a buffet of pills & an inhaler today! Ugh - I am sick & tired of being sick & tired. If I could stop coughing I would be fine. The cough syrup that I have been taking at night seems to keep me up instead of helping me rest & certainly doesn't stop the coughing. Please say a prayer for me that this new buffet of drugs will help me get better!
Tonight I am going to a Pampered Chef party. I've put that $200 skillet on my xmas list! JUST JOKING! But seriously, there is a skillet in the brochure for $200! For that price it should come with your own personal chef :)
Addy's bug bite is looking better. I am cleaning it with peroxide & putting the cream on it twice a day. She had her first taste of avacodo today. Bananas & avacodos are two of the foods that require no cooking. Just 'unwrap' and mash with a spoon!
BTW - we aren't going to the LSU vs Ole Miss game this weekend as previously planned. My father-in-law had a procedure this week & isn't up for traveling (well, he thinks he is, but the dr said otherwise).
Welcome to Southeast Texas!
So, yesterday morning Addy woke up with a nasty looking red mark on her face. I thought it may have been a mosquito bite, but it didn't look like any other I've seen. We went to see the dr this morning & they said "Welcome to Southeast Texas". Apparently, it's very common to be bitten by mosquitos & have different reactions to each species. He gave us some cream to put on it & sent us on our way! Her stats today are: 16.9lbs, 26 1/4 inches long & 16 3/4 head diameter. Addy will be 7 months old next Monday! Yikes! Here is a pic of the nasty bite on her face:
Please take another look at that picture... Do you see the Laugh & Learn Puppy next to Addy? Yep, that was supposed to be a Christmas present for her. Blake had reserved a video game that came out yesterday, so I picked it up (as a Christmas gift for him). Well, he wanted it last night, so I told him if he gets his gift then Addy can have her puppy! He agreed! LOL!
Found a HUGE deal today!
I've had my eye on a Britax Marathon Convertible Carseat forever! Addison's infant seat holds up to 22lbs, but it's obvious that she isn't comfortable in it anymore. Now that she is sitting up she prefers to look around, out the window, etc. In the infant seat she can't do that. Well, one of my nesties (internet friends) posted about a great sale at Target today on my dream carseat! The Britax Marathon retails for $279.99, but I got it for $46! That's right - less than $50 on clearance. The granite pattern is being discontinued :) I am so very excited about this deal. Blake is too - now he doesn't have to hear me talk about a carseat everyday.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME
Addy's Christmas shopping is complete!
Blake & I went shopping today & picked up the toys that Addison wants for Christmas. Here are the cool toys that she will be playing with on Christmas morning:
'Blakey Bear'
'Laugh & Learn Puppy'
'Zoo Activity Cube'
'Jungle Crawl & Cruiser'
I already want to give Addy the puppy, but Blake said NO! It's hard for me to keep presents from people anyway, but even harder to keep them from Addy!
YMCA
Today, I joined the local YMCA. My neighbor was telling me about it, so I went & took a tour. It was pretty nice. Not that I have ever been in a gym to have something to compare it too... There is a nursery for Addy & she can also take swimming lessons. While touring the gym I noticed the bicycle machines had computer screens attached to each one. The director said that as long as you peddle there is internet access! So, you can sit back & give your legs a workout while surfing the web, checking email, etc. I think I will start out with walking on the track. Luckily, I get 7 sessions with a personal trainer that can give me some direction!
I am also checking on a Kindermusik class that starts in the Spring. It's a music & movement class & I think we will both enjoy it & learn some new things. The class is held once a week for 10 weeks.
Have I mentioned that Addison loves pears? Well, SHE LOVES PEARS! I will try to get her on video tomorrow eating them. She is doing great. Talking, rolling, scooting! Uh oh - she cries too -- gotta go!
Our Trip to LSU
Friday we left around 5:30 p.m. headed to Baton Rouge for another weekend of tailgating. It usually takes about 3 hours to get there, but Friday night it took about 5 hours! There were several accidents on I-10 & traffic was a mess. Addison was a champ & did really well. I think she is getting the hang of traveling :) This week Addison is eating pears & she loves them! It's so much fun to watch her experience new things. One night last week she was full of energy & talking to us. Here is the video of that! ````something is wrong with the video here, so i added it to dropshots````
I've also added new pics to Dropshots. Just click on the first 'Curran Pics' link to the right*
Green beans anyone?
Another busy weekend tailgating in Baton Rouge. We have 2 more games left. This morning before leaving campus we went to see the tiger. He was out walking around this time!
Here is a pic of us last year right after we found out I was pregnant:
Here is a pic of the THREE of us in the same setting a little more than a year later:
Yesterday, Addy had green beans & I don't think she was too impressed.
