Easter & More Birthday Festivities

Addison is THREE!  Whoever said the 'Terrible Two's' were bad apparently never had a 3 year old.  We have entered the 'Terrible Three's'!  This child is beautiful, stubborn, smart, defiant, funny, mischievous, energetic, spirited.... I could go on & on.  Parenting is a work in progress & you just have to figure things out as you go & pray you do things right or semi-right!  I say this to myself daily.

Addison is a smart girl & her teacher tells me all the time how amazing she is.  Next school year she will probably be placed in the older 3 year-old class even though just based on age she should be in the younger class.

The Birthday Girl!  She wasn't happy that I had the camera out as soon as she woke that morning!

What's all this stuff & why is it in a basket?

I think she was happy with her basket of goodies!

Don't let smiley fool you!  She was happy with her goodies too!  Notice the Tag Junior?  Well, I've always said that since we read to her daily there was never a need for a Tag.  But, after seeing it on clearance at Walmart for $5 (regular $30) I couldn't pass it up.  Maybe it'll entertain her or maybe it won't!

These little dresses came from B's boss who recently retired.  It was nearly impossible, as usual, to get them both looking at the camera at the same time!  This is a cute picture anyway.

Another birthday party for the birthday girl!

Alyssa 9 months old (4/14/11)

Alyssa goes for her 9 month well-visit next week.  I wanted to take Addy & Alyssa at the same time, so we had to wait until AFTER Addy's 3rd birthday.  Not sure what kind of difference a week or two makes, but the pedi office wouldn't let me schedule before her birthday.

Alyssa:
goes from laying to sitting & crawling to sitting
pulls up on everything & tries to cruise the furniture
is crawling
is babbling
gives hi-fives
has a temper
eats some table food
drinks like a pro from a straw sippy

Addy & the Cough

I took Addy back to the doctor this morning.  Her cough was getting worse instead of better!  The doctor thinks it's bronchial spasms & gave her Orapred & a cough syrup.  I sure hope this gets her 100% better.

This morning I decided to take the small backpack, since our appointment was super early & I knew we wouldn't be there long.  Do you know where this is going?  Well, extra wipes, diapers, clothes, etc are all in the big backpack.  Do you know where this is going yet?  As soon as we sat down in the waiting room Alyssa decided to poop.  It's been months since we had a blowout, so I wasn't very concerned.  Once we got into the bathroom & I took her pants off - I was concerned.  There was one diaper & about 10 wipes in the small backpack.  I used one diaper & nine wipes.  The pants couldn't be saved, so they ended up in a ziploc bag that I keep in each backpack!  So, there we are at the doctor office with my baby in a shirt & a diaper.  BUT, at least she had a BIG pretty bow on her head!   Remember when I used to be able to predict when she would poop.  Every 7-10 days, mornings only.

Addison got a sand & water table for her birthday.  Today, I put sand & water in it while she napped.  When she woke up I took her outside & showed it to her.  She was so excited & kept saying 'I love my sand & water table!  Thank you so much!  I love you, mommy!"  I got a big hug each time too!

I think Addison will really enjoy the new table.  We put it on the front porch since it's covered and the added bonus of putting it on the porch is the nice ceiling fan!

Alyssa insisted on being part of the action!

This is what a 9 month old looks like
when you take them away from the
sand/water table!

Easter Celebration at MDO

Today was Addison's Easter party at school.  The egg hunt was at 10 & that was right when Alyssa was napping, so I was unable to go & take pictures.  Ms C said someone was taking pictures & hopefully we can get tagged in them on Facebook or something.

Addison's 3rd Birthday Party Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Addy's birthday with friends & family.  The party was on Saturday afternoon, so I was worried how naptime would go that morning.  Luckily, it worked out & Addy took her nap at 12, as usual.  I would have dreaded the party if she hadn't taken a nap!

Alyssa & Arabella hung out most of the time.  Alyssa couldn't take her eyes off of Arabella!  It was so cute to watch them together.

Give me that BLUE eyeball!

Booo...Ear Infection!

Well, three days before the BIG birthday bash....ear infection!  Thank goodness it's very mild & we caught it early.  Addy woke up a lot last night - 1:30, 3, 4, 5!  At the 5 o'clock waking she said her ear hurt, so I knew we needed to make a trip to see the pediatrician.  We got an antibiotic & Mucinex to dry up the snotty snot!

This morning when we were sitting in the waiting room there was a lady sitting across from us wearing jeans with holes in them.  There wasn't very many people in there & it was pretty quiet, UNTIL Addy announced loudly "Look mama, her pants are broken" while pointing to the lady across the room!  Everyone got a giggle out of that!  I told Addy that lady probably paid lots of money for her pants to look like that & they really weren't broken.  She's such a mess!

Not two years in a row...

Addy's THIRD birthday party is fast approaching!  It's only fitting that she wakes up with a snotty nose & mild cough a week before her party.  I don't think it's anything except for a cold, but I'll be keeping a close eye on her.  We've already paid the non-refundable deposit on the museum, so let's all pray that she will be back to 100% asap.  Last year we didn't make it to Louisiana for her party & instead spent her birthday in the ER with pneumonia.  You can read all about that HERE!

Addy has been practicing blowing up
balloons, but can't quite do it yet!

Pretty little Alyssa showing
off her 2 bottom teeth!

We are at the age now where it's impossible
to keep her in one place &
still long enough for a picture.
