This morning was Addy's 6 month check-up. She got FIVE shots! It would have only been 4, but we went ahead & got the flu shot too. We go back in one month to get the 2nd round of the flu shot. It's done in 2 parts for babies. Poor Addy was so upset! It was heartbreaking. Especially after only getting 2 shots at the 4 months visit. The nurse said that whoever regulates vaccinations in Texas doesn't allow for them to be combined, unlike Louisiana. Had I known that it may have been worth it to take a trip home :) Here are the 6 month stats: 16lbs 2oz, 26 inches, 16 1/2 inches head diameter. Dr. Braye said she is healthy & doing great. Addy will likely have her 2 botton teeth by Thanksgiving, as well as, crawling all over the place. Dr. Braye seemed to frown upon co-sleeping and commented that there had been 3 deaths in the past year due to a parent rolling on top of baby or suffocating by a pillow/blanket. I would never say 'that couldn't happen to us', but I do take every precaution possible & make our bed safe for her.
I had considered weaning this month & starting formula, but the dr said this was the worst time of year to stop due to flu/cold season. He encouraged me to reconsider without judging & left the final decision up to me. After listening to him & thinking more about it, I think I will continue to nurse Addy longer. Dr. Braye recommended to nurse at least through March (unless we have a biter). I guess the only reason I was going to stop now was that 6 months seemed like the average time to wean.
We talked about separation anxiety hell & I let him know that I was in it right now! He said it's typically more common in breastfed babies & will start to go away as Addy learns to scoot/crawl & walk. It's really been hard, but I just keep reminding myself that it will pass.
Addison is sitting with little help now. It's so funny to see her sitting like a big girl! She can even scoot on her back all over the place. Every single day she does something new that just amazes me. I think that's it for now! This blog is long enough!

Happy bday addy! well she finally passed avery up - she was 15 lbs 12oz! I think its great that you are nursing through the RSV season. Wish I still was! Did you like the new doctor? Maybe its time to put that baby in her bed! If she's attached to your hip all day long you and Blake at least deserve some alone time at night! :) I know it will be just as hard for you as it is for her though.
