Lake Trip

We returned home yesterday from a few relaxing days at the lake! This was Addison's first trip since last summer when she was about 2 months old. She had much more fun this time!

When we went out on the boat the first time Addison fell asleep, so she wasn't too excited. I think she just wanted to forget that she was wearing a lifejacket.

The next time was much better. She enjoyed watching the boats & jet skis go by splashing water. The water was too cold to get in this trip, but will be warmer when we return for the July 4th holiday. We brought the life jacket home with us to help Addy learn to LOVE it! I will try putting it on her several times a week. Maybe I should think of a game or something...

This morning I was checking out Addy's gums & found 2 new teeth have broke through the skin on top! You can just barely see the peaks.

Buddy & Allergies

Buddy has been to the vet so many times since we moved to Texas! Each time it's for rashes & itching & scratching. The vet always says ALLERGIES! Usually it's the same song & dance, antibiotics & a shot. Well, except for last time when Blake took him & was sold special $20 shampoo, special $20 soothing spray, etc! Anyway, Buddy has been miserable the last few days, so I decided to take him to a different vet this morning. This vet sold me 15 pills at $6 buck each (yeah = $90). If after two weeks we see improvement I have to get another 15 day supply. Once he's taken the pills for 30 days we can move to every other day for a month, then twice a week for another month. It will just depend on how well the medication suppresses his allergies! The vet actually told me that the Buddy's allergies won't get better until we move. He suggested we move back to Louisiana :) LOL
I think she was praying that I would stop taking her picture!

Eating, Wagons, Pools

I've been SUCH a blog slacker lately. There is so much to talk about, but not enough time in the day. Let's see... Addy is eating pretty much whatever we eat now! She still has the occasional Stage 3 baby food a couple of times a week. It just depends on what we are eating. I'm trying to revamp our weekly menu to include baby friendly items. She loves grilled cheese, fish, veal, yogurt, all veggies - she isn't a picky eater at all.

I found THIS awesome spray pool at Target yesterday! Addison loves loves loves it! We are going to the lake next week & I think she is going to really enjoy going out on the boat & getting in the water.

Addy got THIS wagon for her birthday & we've been going for strolls daily in it. This isn't your ordinary wagon! It has a compartment under one of the seats to store items & also has 2 cup holders. The canopy has a compartment & cup holders too! We love it! Here are a couple of pics (taken with my phone & didn't turn out great)

Here are some pics from the past couple of weeks:

Blake update - his headaches aren't better. The acupuncture didn't work, so now the chiropractor is working on some stretching techniques with him (yada yada yada). He is scheduled for a sleep study to see if he has sleep apnea. Sometimes that can cause headaches. After the sleep study the next step will be to enroll in the Houston Headache Clinic. So, right now we are just gliding along still trying every option available!

I will upload videos later today. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Updates

Well, I made it a full night away from Addy! I left for Houston at noon last Thursday & got back home at 7:00 a.m. Friday morning! I'm not sure when I will leave her for a night again, but doubt it will be anytime soon :) We stayed at the Hilton Southwest and it was very nice. It had the 2 requirements we were looking for: POOL & BAR! It was awesome to just hang out & visit without rushing to go here or there.

Over the weekend we got TWO offers on our house! WOOHOO! We countered the first one & they accepted :) I overnighted the papers this morning to get things in motion. I pray that all goes well & it doesn't fall through. It appears the buyers aren't well-qualified, however, they do have the pre-approval letter & Good Faith money. The house has been on the market for 7 months now & we are just ready to unload it even if we don't make the profit we wanted.

Pics & videos will be posted shortly...

Getting Ready

I'm getting ready to leave for my overnight trip with my BFF! Addy is napping on Grams right now, so I am waiting until she wakes up before I leave. I am excited about the trip, but nervous as hell too! This will be the very first time that I've been away from Addy for longer than 4ish hours! Yikes! I know Blake & Grams will take very good care of our angel & I have nothing to worry about (I keep repeating this over & over in my head). Let's hope I make it out of the driveway :)

Great deal on diapers!

We recently started using generic diapers (Target & Walmart brands). I've been happy with both brands & will continue to use them! In the past, Addy's rump couldn't tolerate anything except Pamper's & Huggies. I DO NOT like Huggies! They always leaked and/or had blowouts! So, we've been using Pamper's forever. Right now Target is changing the packing for their diapers & have all the older ones on clearance (about $.12 or $.13 per diaper)! We stocked up yesterday with a couple of cases. I am still a HUGE fan of Huggies wipes. No other brand beats them!

What a week!

I am still sick & haven't gotten any relief from my medicine! The dr called me in a new antibiotic on Thursday, so I started it that night. I was really hoping for some improvement by today, but NOPE! My throat still hurts like hell!

Blake had acupuncture performed yesterday. We are hoping this will help with his neck & headache issues. Nothing changed after the first procedure, but the dr said that is common. He is scheduled for 2 more sessions next week!

Addison had scrambled eggs with cheese for breakfast this morning. She wasn't a fan at all! Maybe next time... She has done really well this week without nursing. I've always nursed or given her a bottle for naps & bedtime, so I expected resistance when it came time for sleep. Now all I have to do is rock her & sing a song or read a book! Who knew it would be this easy! NOT ME :) I still give a bottle occasionally if she hasn't eaten much during the day & if she wakes up at night. We are going to work on NOT giving a bottle during the night, but since I've been sick the last thing I want to do is upset Addy!
