Updates

Wednesday I took Addy to the dr because she was spitting up more than usual & extremely fussy. Piglet weighs 9lbs 2oz! Dr said as long as she is gaining weight (which she is) then he isn't too concerned. If she continues over the next few days he will order a GI test to check for reflux.

Thursday we went & completed all of the paperwork for daycare :( This daycare wasn't our first choice, but will be fine! I am on the waiting list for our first choice (have been since October 2007) & am #21. The estimate for an opening is summer 2009!

After the daycare visit we went to visit our long lost friends at Chase. I miss all of my colleagues at work. Addison was very good while we were there. She was asleep most of the time, but did wake up long enough to see all of her new 'aunts'!

Today has been a busy day. Addison just wants to eat then sleep in my arms. When I put her down she fusses. Needless to say I haven't gotten much done today. Once her head control is better I will be able to put her in the Baby Bjorn & wear her around as I do things. Until then...

I took this picture the other day & decided to use the babydoll as a ruler for future pics. Well, I didn't realize that the babydoll's hand found the way to Addison's mouth - lol Her immediate reaction was to suck! Of course, I moved the hand as soon as I saw what she was doing!

One Month Old & Lake Trip

Our baby turned one month old yesterday. She is growing too fast! We went to the lake for the weekend & had a great time. Addison didn't get to go out in the boat this time, but I think by 4th of July she will be big enough.

First Shopping Trip

Yesterday, my mom & I took Addison on her first 'big' shopping trip. We had a great time & Addison was wonderful. Our day was filled with Memaw wanting to buy too much for Addison & me saying NOOOOooooo. Of course, I wasn't 100% successful. She walked away with 4 new outfits, package of socks & a monkey picture frame!

Today is Blake's birthday {{{HAPPY BIRTHDAY B}}} We (me & Addison) got him a digital picture keychain & loaded it with pictures. The card from Addison was signed with her footprints. He loved it!

Addison's 3 1/2 week check-up

This morning Addison had another check-up. This is the last one until the 2 month check-up. She is doing wonderful & growing fast. Today she weighs 8lb 6oz, 20 1/2 inches long, head is 14 1/4 inches. Dr. Khanfar is very pleased with her progress & we must be doing something right! Now we just need to give her a real bath before her 1 month birthday on Thursday. After all, that is 'picture' day. I want her to be clean & smell nice!!!

Bath?

Okay - we have only been giving Addison sponge baths even though the dr said she could start regular baths this week. So, tonight (I really shouldn't be sharing this) I decided to try bathing Addison in her cute little pink tub. I turn on the heater in the bathroom, get the tub, put it in the regular tub & sit there for a minute looking at it. I had told Blake I was going to setup for her bath, but didn't mention my idea about a 'real' bath. A few minutes later he comes to the back ready to give Addison her 'sponge' bath & is looking for me. He then comes in the bathroom & asks what I am doing. I point out the cute little pink tub in the regular tub & tell him we should try it, but I have reservations. It was truly a Kodak moment - me, Blake (holding Addison), and Buddy all looking in the regular tub at the cute little pink tub. I get Addison (still fully clothed) and put her in the cute little pink tub to try it out & get an idea of what it would be like to bath her in it. She seemed to be comfy, maybe because she was asleep?? After a few minutes, Blake & I decide to give her a 'sponge' bath one more night!

Happy 3 Week Birthday Addison

Our little darling is 3 weeks old today and growing fast. Everyday I see a difference! Next week we have an appointment for her newborn pictures. Katie with Two Suez will be doing the pics - she is the one that took our maternity pics. I can't wait!

Mother's Day Weekend

We had a busy weekend! On Saturday Addison made her first road trip to Vicksburg to meet her great grandmother. She loves riding in the car & was great the entire time. Then on Sunday she made her first trip to Bastrop. Again, she was a champ! Mother's Day has a whole new meaning now that I am officially a mother of a little human being. Just when I thought I couldn't appreciate my mom any more, I DO!

We've started 'tummy time' with Addison, but she associates being on her belly with sleeping! I guess because that is how she was most of the time in the NICU. She is a funny little girl!

Happy Birthday & Due Date

Today Addison is 2 weeks old & this was her original due date. I think we have adjusted nicely to parenthood. It has been a hard 2 weeks, but so worth it!

1st Dr. Visit

Today was Addison's first dr. visit. She is 12 days old & had a great check-up. Last Tuesday when she was released from the NICU she weighed 6.9lbs & today she weighs 7.7lbs! Our little piglet! The first week home was a daze, but each day it gets easier. We are all learning so much about one another & enjoying every second of it.

Buddy is a great big brother just as we all thought he would be. He always checks on Addison by giving her a nudge with his cold, wet nose. She doesn't seem to mind.
